Powerline Trail from the North Shore & evening surfing

After having a couple of quiet days, we decided yesterday to try hiking the famous Powerline Trail which is supposed to be one of the nicest trails on the island with spectacular views of the interior and mountains.

At noon we dropped off Henrik at Hanalei Bay again since he wanted to spent the day enjoying the surf up there and made our way out to the trailhead.

The trail is very wide and resembles a dirt road that cuts through the island. Unfortunately the trail was very overgrown on both sides so that the views of the surrounding valleys were limited and additionally after about 1,5 miles it became very muddy so that we decided to make our way back to the car.

On the way back we discovered some pretty nice smaller side trails that led us to some nice viewing spots where we had a picnic which made this trail worth hiking.

Meeting Henrik in the late afternoon at Hanalei Bay, Sean decided to also jump in the water and try surfing and had lots of fun.
